Upcoming events* May Wheaton Arts, July Pittsburgh Glass Center* Check back for updates* The Burnt Asphalt Family is an artist collective that creates installations that take the form of a performance. Each event shares meals, demonstrates cooking, showcases edible sculpture, reinvents objects, activates space and explores the crossroads between art, craft, and design. Their collaborative process, in which the creators’ identities are subsumed, is not in creating objects or destroying them but in challenging the perception of material and process. During the events at least 14 family and friends cook food using hot glass to serve to the audience. By creating moments of beauty and spectacle and demonstrating various properties of glass, they create a venue to question tradition and experience.*Family and Friends* Jessica Jane Julius, Erica Rosenfeld, Emma Salamon, Hope Rovelto, Deborah Czeresko, Sam Geer, Dena Pengas, Skitch Manion, Maret Sarapu, Sarah Gilbert, Adam Holtzinger, Leo Tecosky *Events*2009 "TV Dinner II" Urban Glass, "TV Dinner" Corning, "Cocktail Party" Urban, 2008 "Holiday Special" UofL, "Garden BBQ" Urban, "Turkey Dinner II" Urban, 2007 "Turkey Dinner" Wheaton
